School transitions mark the time period when students move from one school environment to another and they occur at a variety of ages. Students might have problems adjusting to changes in educational environments. Our mission as an international school is to make sure that your child will experience a peaceful and smooth transition.

HQIS will hold two Transition Meetings, “From Kindergarten to Grade 1” and “From Grade 5 to Upper School” on Friday, January 22th. Should you be unable to attend, please inform your class teacher promptly.

Transition Meeting #1

Time flies and your child is growing up so fast. The transition to Primary School marks the beginning of a new, important stage for your child’s education. HQIS will hold the transition Meeting “From Kindergarten to Grade 1” on Friday, January 22nd. During the presentation, our leadership will provide parents a detailed presentation about the HQIS curriculum of Primary School, showing HOW do we learn and WHAT do we learn. In addition, you have the chance to enter the classroom and observe the students learning in the class this time.

The Transition Meeting “From Kindergarten to Grade 1” will cover all the aspects of the first major transition for children, from Kindergarten to Primary School, which implies a variety of behavioral and psychological changes. The approach to Primary school is a key point in the life of students, and our PYP Program provides us with a significant education delivered through inquiry, which is all about developing students to be self-starters. Our curriculum stresses a strong foundation in English, Math, Chinese, and Science.

All of our Kindergarten parents are invited to come and know more about the transition between divisions. Please register before next Monday, January 18th. As the Transition Meeting is truly important, attendance is highly recommended. Should you be unable to attend, please inform your class teacher promptly.
